A Few Things To Consider

* First generation to be unhealthier than their parents.

* Pre-schoolers are the fastest growing market for anti-depressants

* Depression will be the 2nd largest killer after heart disease by 2020. It is also a contributory factor to fatal coronary artery disease.

* We are becoming a nation of prescription drug-takers.

* Drugs, alcohol and tobacco account for 20% of all acute care hospital days.

* Anterior head carriage can add up to 30 lbs. of abnormal leverage on the neck. Lung capacity depletes by as much as 30%. Loss of lung capacity leads to heart disease and blood vascular problems.
( Dr. Rene Caillet-USC)

* Upper 4 vertebrae of the neck produce endorphins (when there is freedom of motion). When motion is absent, many otherwise non-painful sensations are experienced as pain.

* In the next 50 years Alzheimer’s is expected to quadruple.

* We inhale 15 lbs. or more of polluted air everyday.

• Oxygen once at 38-50% now at 21% and as low as 10% in some cities.

• Nearly I in every 2 Americans has a chronic medical condition

• 90% of seniors have atleast one chronic disease*

• 77% of seniors have 2 or more chronic diseases

* examples of chronic diseases are chronic fatigue syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, asthma, renal failure, diabetes, hepatitis, systemic lupus erythematosus, cardiovascular disease, some cancers,, and osteoporosis

…note to self… a new trajectory sounds good to me. Stay tuned for upcoming evening class about setting a new path. The time is definitely right.
